Many bloggers are having a day of blog silence'to honor the lives and families of those in Connecticut. I too, want to honor those who lost their lives and all who've been left to deal with the aftermath. My blog will be silent. But, my voice will be heard as prayers are lifted to my Heavenly Father. Please join me my lifting up these precious families in prayer. 2 Thessalonians 3:16 (NASB) "Now may the Lord of peace Himself continually grant you peace in every circumstance. Thrift Store Christmas Decor {Re-Vamped}

One of my favorite things to do is find things I can 'make my own'. I've found several things this year I knew I could update. The thrill of finding it for a good price is almost as exciting as the seeing the finished project. Today I'm sharing several of my thrifted Christmas decor items that I gave a new look. {Christmas Art} I found this print for $3 and just knew it had potential. DIY Christmas Stockings {Burlap}

You know the book, If You Give a Pig a Pancake? Christmas this year reminds me of that book. I decided to change up my tree this year, which meant I had to change up my mantle, which meant I had to change up the stocking hangers and then you guessed it... my stockings. One thing has led to another and my entire decor theme has changed. You can see the process by clicking the links to my blog posts this month. How to Flock A Christmas Tree. Word for Your Wednesday

{SURVIVOR} Yesterday was a HUGE day for me, my last day of radiation. I can officially close the door on my treatment for breast cancer- YAHOO! I cried happy tears as I drove away from the hospital for the last time and reflected on the last 9 months. Looking back, I can see the large role this challenge played in my life; physically, emotionally and spiritually. Last week a sweet friend (thank you Tammy) blessed me with a beautiful necklace, my favorite piece on the chain is the word Survivor … [Read more...]
Christmas Mantle {Silver & White}

The first thing I do when I start my Christmas decorating is my fireplace mantle. Last year I knew I was going to change up my look and collected a few items on clearance. I found great accessories at Michaels and HomeGoods. I also made this silver wreath last year which is perfect over the mirror. I started with my largest items (trees, goblets, jar, santas). Next, I added the garland, burlap ribbon and picks. I love the pops of color added to the white and silver. In case you … [Read more...]

Word for Your Wednesday

{IRRITATED} I only have 3 days of radiation left! For the most part, I haven't had much by way of side-effects, expect for my skin, it's getting sore and irritated. I can feel it with every cami and shirt I wear. I have cream, thank you Jesus, so it's bearable and most importantly - almost over! My skin isn't the only thing irritated, lately it feels like it carries over into the smallest of daily issues. Take for example (I can't believe I"m going to admit this) what happened Saturday … [Read more...]
New Christmas Colors {Aqua, Lime & White}

This year I made the leap to a new look and new colors! It started after Christmas last year when I decided I wanted a flocked Christmas tree (like my Grandma) with blue and green ornaments. The problem is, once I get an idea in my head, I tend to go a little nutso. The original idea was to add a flocked tree and ornaments (and a bazzilion few accents) to my bedroom. As I pulled out the bins and looked at everything I bought, I realized I had WAY more than my bedroom could hold. So, I decided … [Read more...]
