DIY Kitchen Island Upgrade {Wallpaper & Paint}

Before Kitchen Island

Happy Monday! Do you ever have one of those days when you wake up with an idea and you just HAVE to do it that day? This happens to me quite frequently. I've been dreaming of painting and wallpapering my humongous kitchen island for a while now. Our local Lowe's closed (BOO) and I bought the paper on clearance knowing I would get to this someday.  Someday was Saturday! My inspiration came from 2 places: The bead-board wallpaper - my sweet friend Kristin who wallpapered her island The bold … [Read more...]

Before Chicken

Happy Friday! This week I found a couple of adorable metal chicken signs on clearance at Michael's - Hip Hip Horray for clearance! One thing I do is too try to look at things with different eyes. Did you know you don't have to use something the same way you bought it? *GASP* These great little signs were only $2.97 each - regularly $7.99.  {Before Chicken Signs} They're cute by themselves but needed to be 'beefed' up a bit  if you know what I mean. I shopped my own house (one of my … [Read more...]

Found it on Friday {Fun Thrift Store Finds}

Before Sconce

I found some 'treasures' at my local Goodwill the other day and had to share!  When I enter a thrift store, I get an adrenaline rush giddy because I just KNOW I'm going to find something great. Occasionally (I mean VERY occasionally) I leave empty-handed;  thank the Lord this trip wasn't one of those trips! {Before Wall Sconce} One of the spots I always check is the lamp section. I could have jumped up and down right in the store when I spotted this pair of wall sconces - it's hard to … [Read more...]

Thursday’s Thoughts {It’s a Good Day!}

Missionary Mom

Today is a good day for a few different reasons! {Reason #1 - My dresser has been featured!}  My French Country Dresser is being featured at a great blog - The Power of Paint. {Reason #2- I'm in Mexico} I have a secret to share with you: I'm a part-time missionary. Yes, I'm a wife, a mom, a youth pastor and a blogger, but in my spare time I'm a missionary at heart. This week I'm in Mexico with one of the most amazing women I've ever met, LeeAnne Risk. This post would be 10 pages long … [Read more...]

Word for Your Wednesday {Impossible}

All things are Possible

{IMPOSSIBLE} I have a word for today: IMPOSSIBLE. Many things are impossible, like for instance, it's impossible for me to post a video today because I don't have my camera - drats. It may be impossible for me to post a video but, thanks to technology I can still post a word for your Wednesday! Another example would be internet access in the sky, impossible right? Not any more! I am writing this post from somewhere in the clouds which makes it totally possible to connect to the internet … [Read more...]

Word for Your Wednesday

Mom and Me Easter

It's Wednesday - which is a special day, well at least THIS Wednesday is! Why you may ask? For 2 BIG FAT reasons: Number 1:  It's my Moms birthday and she's XX, ok I obviously can't be spilling the beans on that but, let me tell you, you'd be shocked if you actually knew! I'm so happy to say Mom has become one of my best friends (now that I'm old and not a bratty brat teenager anymore)! Number 2: It's my son, Brock's, birthday and he's turning 16 - WOW! Isn't he cute? This picture was … [Read more...]

Tuesday {Tables & Treats}

Burlap Runner

I hosted Easter dinner this year and wanted to share what I did. I know it's past the big day but, who wants to do all this work and not show it off? Kidding aside - any of these ideas can be used for any occasion by switching out colors and themes. I love hosting parties basically because I get the chance to make decorations and make cute treats. {The Easter Table} My tablescape idea started with the Burlap Runner I made last month. (To see the how I made it click HERE). Second were the … [Read more...]
