Live from Como Town!

Como Town Zoo

I had such a blast on set yesterday with the Twin Cities Live crew; live from Como Town! I was asked if I would like take part in a live shoot at Como Town on July 29th - YAHOO!  Honestly, the day Producer Kelli Hanson, asked was not a good day; I was still sick from my first chemo treatment. Knowing the date for the live show would be just 2 days after my 2nd treatment was a little scary. However, the fighter in me agreed to do it and I decided I would NOT be sick. I refuse to allow … [Read more...]

{Tween Room Reveal}

American Girl

I'll be on TV today - Whoop Whoop! Tune in to KSTP Channel 5 from 3-4 o'clock to see a live shoot from Como Zoo. We'll be sharing some super fun ideas for kids! Now for the Tween Room Reveal!  My daughter Kennedy's room is on it's 3rd look. It's gone from nursery, to pre-school, to grade school and now tween. As we rearranged and cleaned things up we knew we had to clear a few things out. On the list was her American Girl dolls and accessories. *TEARS* {Nursery & Preschool … [Read more...]

Cry Baby Face

{STOP} Today I go in for Chemo #2. I'm going to be totally transparent and tell you my first experience was not a good one. I started the day with a cheery attitude but, soon into treatment, the smiles were replaced with tears. I think it was a combination of the unknown and the reality of what I'm dealing with coming to the surface. Here's me and my 'not so happy' look during treatment: Are  you wondering what in the world is on my head? It's called a cold cap, a relatively new therapy … [Read more...]

Fake Flower Fabulousness

Canvas Flower Frames

{Fake Flower Fabulousness} I'm almost done with Kennedy's room update; I've named it Operation Tween. I plan to be finished up and deliver a big reveal on Friday. In the mean time, I thought I'd share some of the projects going into the room. {DIY Memo Board w/ Flower Push Pins} I got the idea to fill a large spot with a memo-board in her room and as usual I 'shopped' my house first. I remembered I had this huge (and not cute I must say) mirror sitting in the garage for over a year. … [Read more...]

Before Garage Sale Prints

I love garage sales, yard sales, barn sales or any other sale of used junk someone is getting rid of.  One of the best things about them is finding home accessories; have you been shopping at a furniture store lately? *YIKES* Thank the Lord for HomeGoods, even going discount I can easily blow $100 without blinking an eye. I'm always on the look-out for accessories I can 'make my own'. In most cases, what you find won't match your decor style and is out-dated (hence the garage sale). Garage … [Read more...]

chemo port2

{PORT}  Port is a new word to me; introduced as part of my chemotherapy treatment. It's quite an amazing device. Basically, it's a disc that sits under the skin with a catheter which disperses chemo to the body. Medical advances amaze me; God has blessed the medical community with so much wisdom. If you are like me and had no idea what a port is -  here's a picture: My Port: (the stitches are already healed over) It's weird to me that I have this port 'thingy' sitting right under my … [Read more...]

Makin’ it on Monday

Ice Cream Cone Cakepops

It's Sunday evening, and in 'normal world' (whatever that is) I would have my Monday post ready to go. Now that I'm in chemo world, things are just not normal. Let me clarify, while chemo really stinks, I refuse to allow it to steal my joy; I'm just having to take things at a slower place than usual. *SHUCKS* I'm planning a summer party for Friday night and desserts are my favorite part. I'm on a cakepop kick so I knew right away I wanted to incorporate them into the desert menu. If you've … [Read more...]

TCL Taping Mic'd Up

It's amazing that while on one hand you can have some exciting things going on in your life and at the same time so not so exciting things. I think life's just like that! {Exciting News} This week has been amazing for a couple of reasons. I had the privilege of making an appearance on Kare 11 with Diana Piece. We shared idea on how to plan a "Summer Party' using ideas found on Pinterest. Click here to see the idea and the how too's on my Pinterest Summer Fun Board. Second, my segment on … [Read more...]

Homecoming Colors

{True Colors} Sports rule at my house; I'm out-numbered by my husband and 3 boys!  Wearing team colors is a fun way to show support and we really get into it, I mean really. Whether we're in purple and yellow for the Minnesota Vikings, or red, black and white in support of our school - color is one vehicle we use to display our enthusiasm. The colors you're wearing tell everyone else which team your for. We're obviously for the Vike's! One year we had a Vikings Christmas and had one rule: … [Read more...]

Kare 11 Collage

Yesterday was a great day! I had the privilege of being invited back to Kare 11 for a segment on Summer Party Ideas using Pinterest (idea central). The show was a great distraction leading up to the start of my chemotherapy this week. If you'd like to see each idea and how to do them, check out my 'Summer Fun' board on Pinterest (while you're there, follow my boards, pretty please). In case you missed it, you can watch it by clicking HERE.  One of my favorite things about getting the … [Read more...]
