I Found a Wicker Planter – Finally!

Before Wicker Planter

I've been searching high and low for over a year looking for a wicker planter. The only ones I have found have been in antique shops for over $100 - RIDICULOUS. You can imagine my excitement when I stumbled (literally) upon one at my local Goodwill for only $9.99 - EEEEKKKK! {Before Wicker Planter} The first thing I did was hose it down to make it nice and clean. Then I used my BFF, Kilz Spray Primer. to prime and prepare it for color. I wanted it to be green to match a couple of cute … [Read more...]

Oh My Gee…It’s an Aqua Sofa Table!

Before Sofa Table

I've never met a sofa table I didn't love. This one is unique, it has fake drawer fronts and opens as if there were a leaf to go with it (which I don't have). Those things don't bother me because I LOVE the shape and of course all it needs is a new coat of paint! The best part is a friend gave it to me for FREE!  {Before Sofa Table} Here's a close up of the 'fake' drawers. There were little metal knobs which had to go! I've been loving my DIY Chalk Paint recipe! I whipped some up with … [Read more...]

Old Dresser

{GLUE} Glue is a great invention! As a DIY'er I work with several different types of glue: hot glue, spray adhesive, E6000, and wood glue. The purpose of glue to hold something together, whether it is to fix something broken or to join two items together; it serves the same purpose. Someone gave me this great vintage dresser the other day. It is old, really old. Several of the drawers were in pieces and the actual dresser was coming apart on one side. I almost passed it up thinking it would … [Read more...]

Word for Your Wednesday

{FLOOD} Naturally speaking a flood is not a good thing. I have an aunt that lives in Grand Forks and clearly remember the day she called frantically and said, "Are you guys worried about us?" It was the flood that devastated the Red River Valley. Her basement flooded to the second level; thankfully her house wasn't a complete loss. Up until that time I was clueless about the repercussions of a flood. Fires, gas leaks and raw sewage was there the moment the rain stopped. A year after the … [Read more...]

Master Suite Update {The Reveal}

Cora Pottery Barn Duvet

I have a confession to make: I like to makeover, re-purpose and update, a lot. After recently updating my daughter's room, I had the itch. If you missed her Tween Room Reveal check it out HERE. I had wanted to warm up my room for a while being the color scheme was on the cool side.  Again, it all started with the duvet. I found a gorgeous duvet I loved on clearance on the Pottery Barn website; Cora Kalamakari. The duvet really appealed to me because I could incorporate it into much … [Read more...]
