{DIY Night Stand Makeover with Antique Technique}

PB Duvet & Shams

{DIY Nightstand Make Over with an Antique Technique}  I like to update, re-purpose, or redecorate some part of my house quite frequently. I'm always finding new ideas or accessories I just need to incorporate. I hadn't really set out to update our master suite, OOPS, it just kind of happened. It's time for a DIY nightstand makeover! It was Kennedy's fault really. After finding the adorable duvet on clearance (Pottery Barn Tween) for her Tween Room Update, I had to go snoop on the Pottery … [Read more...]

Ice Cream Cone Cakepops

It's Sunday evening, and in 'normal world' (whatever that is) I would have my Monday post ready to go. Now that I'm in chemo world, things are just not normal. Let me clarify, while chemo really stinks, I refuse to allow it to steal my joy; I'm just having to take things at a slower place than usual. *SHUCKS* I'm planning a summer party for Friday night and desserts are my favorite part. I'm on a cakepop kick so I knew right away I wanted to incorporate them into the desert menu. If you've … [Read more...]

Makin’ it on Monday {Boys Room Reveal}

Before Boys Room

Last week I shared bits and pieces of the boys' room make-over and I'm so excited to show you the official 'reveal'. I was going for a locker room look and feel and it really came together! {Before Boys Room}  DIY Mom to the rescue! {After Boys Room} The biggest part of the project was the 'locker wall' I created using metal lockers and a 3 piece entertainment center. If you missed the post with the details click HERE. As you know, making a room come together is in the … [Read more...]

Makin’ it on Monday {DIY Locker-Room}

Boys Room Before Corner

One of my biggest projects last summer was my boy's room. I hated it for quite sometime and just needed some inspiration to get me started. I asked them what they would like and totally ignored them made it something they'd love...I think. My vision was to have a "locker-room" look and feel - perfect for boys! {Before Boys Room} At one point I was proud of the stripes I worked so hard on. I had a reason for them: the blue & green for the Timberwolves, the red & green for the … [Read more...]

Outside Kitchen Cupboard Door

{Kitchen Cupboard Conversion Chart} Being I'm on a forced vacation, I'm going to take the time to feature some past projects. I've been doing projects for a couple of years and since I just started my blog in January, I have plenty of 'back' projects to show you. One of my of favorites is my Kitchen Cupboard Door Conversion Chart. I saw this idea on Beckie's blog, Infarrantly Creative, over a year ago. I thought it was so great - I did it THAT day! Here's the outside of the door; my saving … [Read more...]

Makin’ it on Monday {Front Porch}

Elmers Paint Marker

Spring is the perfect time to spruce up the front porch! I have to admit I actually re-did my front door last fall but, I did get new pillows this weekend so I say it qualifies as a 'new project'. Since I am enjoying a forced REST, I'm looking for tiny things I can do - I have a need to always be doing something, even if it's small. {Before Front Door} I taped off the door and sides. I used Rust-Oleum Front Door Paint and it was AWFUL. When I say awful, I mean absolutely horrible, worst … [Read more...]

Makin’ it on Monday {Cute Cottage Bench}

Canvas Drop Cloth

My Makin' in on Monday project for the week was this adorable little bench. I totally lucked out one day and found it at Goodwill on HALF OFF day!  *SCORE* I got it for only $35! {Before Cute Cottage Bench} The first thing I did was take the seat portion off. It was adorned with a lovely tapestry type fabric and maroon trim; I couldn't get it off fast enough! The seats came off in 2 squares so it was super easy to recover. My new favorite fabric is a Canvas Drop Cloth (used for … [Read more...]

DIY Kitchen Island Upgrade {Wallpaper & Paint}

Before Kitchen Island

Happy Monday! Do you ever have one of those days when you wake up with an idea and you just HAVE to do it that day? This happens to me quite frequently. I've been dreaming of painting and wallpapering my humongous kitchen island for a while now. Our local Lowe's closed (BOO) and I bought the paper on clearance knowing I would get to this someday.  Someday was Saturday! My inspiration came from 2 places: The bead-board wallpaper - my sweet friend Kristin who wallpapered her island The bold … [Read more...]

Makin’ it on Monday {Adorable Memo Board}

Before Mirror

Happy Monday! Please click the fence and give a quick vote! I have a super fun project to share with you today! As part of a 'Twin Cities Live' segment I was challenged to find 3 pieces at a thrift store and transform them for a specific room. After seeing the lay of the land I went with a guest room. I found a cute little dresser, a headboard and this gem of a mirror. The mirror came in at only $14.99- SWEET! {Before Mirror} The first thing that HAD to go was the Pink Sea Shell! It … [Read more...]

DIY Burlap Runner {And a Spring Centerpiece}

Burlap & Trim

It's mid-March and we're feelin' the heat! It got up to 79 degrees today and for most of the country that wouldn't seem out of the norm but, I live in Minnesota and it's just wackadoodle!  The heat is making me feel all SPRINGY inside and so of course, I must do a spring project.  This time it ended up  involving something I rarely do - SEW. I can't believe I even attempted it without my mother-in-luv holding my hand. I have to admit, I'm really proud of myself! {insert pat on the back … [Read more...]
