Fa la la la… I need somewhere to put my cards….la la la la. I’ve been racking my little brain box trying to come up with a cute way to display my Christmas cards; after all they are one of my favorite parts of the holidays! I remembered I had a pile of shutters out in the garage and thought for sure I could make something work.
{Before Christmas Card Shutters}
I scored a whole bunch of these shutters from Craigslist earlier this summer. You may be thinking, they are green – perfect. Not so much. They had to be repainted.
The fist thing I did was prime them with my BFF, Kilz Spray Primer and then sprayed them white using Rust-Oleum Enamel Spray - much better! Do you like my winter ‘paint booth’ in the garage?
Next I distressed them a little.
I decided to add hardware to the top. I impressed myself by drilling the holes myself.
Then I added my cute handle.
To add the Christmas touch all I needed was a little wreath. I found these at The Dollar Store and tied them on with cute polka dot ribbon.
To hang the cards, I used small clothespins.
{After Christmas Card Shutters}
I’ve tried many different ways to display my cards, this one is my favorite. I love it because everyone can actually SEE the lovely families who took their time to share their Christmas love.
How do you display your cards? I’d love to know!
Love you more than Christmas cards with actual friends and family that make me smile,
