I’m so excited to have some fun finds to share with you! I recently taped a segment for Twin Cities Live on how to garage sale and I LOVE how it turned out! Of course how couldn’t it, working with such great people like my friend, Kelli and amazing sis Kelsey (aka friend)!
In case you missed it – just for you!
I thought I’d share some of the great finds!
First were 4-Ethan Allen botanical prints – only $4 each; that’s $16 total! One of my favorite things to find at a garage sale or even thrift store is a pair or set of something – so I snagged these right up! I’ve already done a little Sunday magic on 2 of them (didn’t have time to all 4 yet, but you get the idea).
In case you aren’t sure what a SWELL deal I got, I thought I’d give you a little comparison. Here are some Pottery Barn Botanical Prints, which range from $39-$59 each.
Or how about Ballards (drool) , at $179 for 2.
Yes, $16 is feeling MUCH better to me!
I set myself up a priming station (a pallet outside on the grass) to finish the other pieces I found.
I LOVE these super awesome chunky frames- heaven in a square!
After Chunky Frames:
A cute candlestick – who can resist a candlestick?
I found too many items to share, but simply can’t end this post without showing you these 2 BIG finds! I’ve wanted both forever (goes to show patience really is worth it). I don’t usually run into ‘big ticket’ items at garage sales or expect to pay for them, but I couldn’t pass either of these up!
First, is my big comfy chair with ottoman for my master suite (I’ve been using a love seat which was too big). It’s a white Ikea slipcover chair and ottoman in mint condition, I got both pieces for $180!
Second, is this black amoire I’ve needed for my someday office – I”ll be able to cram so much stuff in there! It was only $95 and in perfect condition (for sure over $500 at a furniture store).
Who says you can’t find great stuff at garage sales? If you were a former garage sale snob (like myself), I hope I’ve given you food for thought!
{ 4 Best Tips for Shopping Garage Sales}
- Bring it – bring small bills, comfy shoes, a list, and a buddy!
- Grab it – if you like it grab it (before somebody else does), you can always set it down.
- See it – picture the item with a different color or another use.
- Ask it – if you want it for less always ask, be reasonable not insulting!
Love you more than garage sales (really I do)!
