Found it on Friday {Fun Thrift Store Finds}

I found some ‘treasures’ at my local Goodwill the other day and had to share!  When I enter a thrift store, I get an adrenaline rush giddy because I just KNOW I’m going to find something great. Occasionally (I mean VERY occasionally) I leave empty-handed;  thank the Lord this trip wasn’t one of those trips!

One of the spots I always check is the lamp section. I could have jumped up and down right in the store when I spotted this pair of wall sconces – it’s hard to come across a pair of anything in most thrift stores, so this was a SCORE!

The icing on the cake was, it was Blue Tag day, which means anything with a blue tag is 50% off,  these were only $4.99 each but I ended up getting both for that price.

I got out my “magic in a can’ and got to work.

First, I spray painted them using my BFF – Kilz Primer and second with Rust-Oleum White Enamel Spray.

To finish them I used 2 small lampshades I had on hand (also a thrift store find).

I covered the lampshades with canvas drop cloth fabric and some white ruffle trim.

Perfect over my (FREE) fireplace!

{3 Tiered Stand}

I found this great 3 tiered stand and decided to use it as a centerpiece for our dining room table.

I did the basically the same DIY magic on this piece. Kilz Primer first and then Rust-Oleum Blossom White Spray Paint  (I didn’t use enamel spray on this because I didn’t want the glossy finish) for the plates and Rust-Oleum Canyon Black Spray Paint for the metal stand.

The last thing I did was distress the plates to give it a worn look.

I love how it turned out but, I’m not really sure what to fill it with. Any ideas would be welcome! I’m leaning towards vintage salt & pepper shakers, what do you think?

Again, I used Kilz Primer to prime it and then one of my favorite colors spray paint, Rust-Oleum Leafy Green.

For now, I have it on the bottom shelf of a spot in my kitchen. I’ll probably move it 18 times before it stays put!

It was a beautiful day in the thrift store neighborhood!
