I finally gave up on a normal winter and decided to put my ‘winter wonderland’ decor away. The most snow we’ve had this entire winter has been 4″ , serious bummer. As I put away the sparkly icicle branches, glitter pinecones and my DIY Mercury Glass vases, I felt a little sad. I fell in love with the look of Mercury Glass over Christmas. Then I had a light-bulb moment and realized mercury glass isn’t just for Christmas or even winter anymore – WHEW. I had just purchased a new mercury glass jar for $16.99 at my favorite all time store, HomeGoods, and I didn’t want to have to put it away.
In the same trip I had found a great glass jar for $7.00!
I decided to DIY my own mercury glass jar. I had made vases over the holidays and thought I could do the same with my new jar. Click here to see previous post: DIY Mercury Glass
I used Krylon Looking Glass Spray Paint, Krylon Champagne metallic Spray Paint, and a bottle with a water/vinegar mix. I sprayed the inside of the jar, the inside of the lid, and the inside of the bottom.
I love how my jar turned out and I love that I don’t have to put it away until next Christmas!
Just for fun I have to show you another amazing find from my thrifting this week – a (new to me) Calphanon Skillet! I need pans SO BAD I almost squealed when I found it!
You won’t believe the price! It was originally marked $6.99 (which is a steal itself) but, lucky me it was Tag Day and it ended up being 1/2 off!
Just for kicks I looked this pan up on Amazon and it was listed for $49.95 – insert HAPPY DANCE!
