There it was, sitting on the shelf just screaming at me waiting for me! A chandelier all alone and ready to go for $6.99 – SCORE! I always hit the lamp section at the thrift store, you never know what cool lamps or chandeliers you’ll find. This one will be perfect for my new office (the one I’m dreaming about but don’t actually have yet).
Here’s the full size ‘before shot’!
Step #1: Spray with Kilz Spray Primer.
Step #2: Spray paint (using same method) with Valspar Gloss Ruby Red.
Step #3: Spray with Rust-Oleum Crystal Clear Enamel (to protect it).
I haven’t decided on the shades yet. I got these beauties at a garage sale for $2 (6 of them).
Here are the 2 options I’ve come up with so far:
Option #1: Burlap
Option #2: Ribbon

Hi, I'm Sunday and yes, that's my name! I love DIY projects and the thrill of making something great-for cheap. I'm here to share tips for the DIY'er at heart from a wife, mom, and pastor. What do you do with your Sunday Afternoon?

I like them both, but I think I like the burlap best soooo #1
love the way it turned out I’d use no shades and have it in pretty pink enamel with added maybe crystal teardrops
I have a pink one in my closet – so cute!
Would love to see black and white polka dots!!
Great idea!!! Thanks Bev!
BURLAP!
Burlap gets my vote!
Although … black & white polka dots could be super fun!
Burlap! Are these from my garage sale?! They look familiar…
Why yes they are!!
i think a few strands of crystal beads would be nice. surely they can be found online at a reasonable price? i have that exact light just sitting there waiting to be used. umm. Love the red.
What a nice easy transformation! Love the red! I like the Burlap best. I just painted a similar chandelier on a lovely blue color. would love if you can check it out!
