Word for Your Wednesday

{True Colors}

Sports rule at my house; I’m out-numbered by my husband and 3 boys!  Wearing team colors is a fun way to show support and we really get into it, I mean really. Whether we’re in purple and yellow for the Minnesota Vikings, or red, black and white in support of our school – color is one vehicle we use to display our enthusiasm. The colors you’re wearing tell everyone else which team your for.

We’re obviously for the Vike’s! One year we had a Vikings Christmas and had one rule: Vikings colors only!

We even incorporated team colors into family pictures one year; that is some serious team love!

We especially go crazy during homecoming week; I actually collect things all year just for Spirit Day.

When you face an unexpected situation in your life, your true colors will show – colors that signify which team your for. A difficult situation usually brings out a persons true (team) colors;  some good and some not so good.  The day I was diagnosed with breast cancer, I had to decide what my true colors would be.

James 1:2 (MSG) “Consider it a sheer gift, friends, when tests and challenges come at you from all sides. You know that under pressure, your faith-life is forced into the open and shows its true colors...”

I want my faith-filled life to be reflected when my true colors show. Honestly, there haven’t been many difficult situations in my life that have forced my true colors to the forefront. But this one, breast cancer, has brought them right out in the open. My true colors are an outward sign the inside.

I know what you’re thinking, what are faiths’ true colors?
