Word for Your Wednesday

{Tape}

Tape is an amazing invention. It’s remarkable how many types there are!  There’s scotch tape, shipping tape, duct tape and of course good ole’ masking tape. Tape makes everyday tasks easier; can you imagine wrapping presents without it?

 I recently discovered a new use for tape and it’s a good one. Everyday at radiation, the technicians use tape to pull my right boob out of the way. Yes, as in masking tape, on my skin pulling the right side over – even after having it reduced, it’s still a little too big… wow.  So, the tape serves its function, it adheres’s one thing to another – my boob over to the right side of the table I’m laying on.

Just like tape adheres one thing to another, you can adhere or tape prayer to another person. The Bible calls it ‘standing in the gap’. According to the Word, one person can pray on behalf of another. There can be many reasons a person needs someone else to pray for them; take for instance a child that has walked away from the Lord or maybe a person that is so sick they can’t pray for themselves (I’ve experienced this). These are the types of opportunities we can use to stand in the gap for others.

Whether a person wants the prayer or not, knows you are praying or not, you can tape your prayer right to them. You can use prayer as tape, a go between you, the Lord and another person.

Philippians 4:6 (AMP) “Do not fret or have any anxiety about anything, but in every circumstance and in everything, by prayer and petition (definite requests), with thanksgiving, continue to make your wants known to God.”

Just think, no matter who, no matter why, no matter when, we have the ability to tape prayers (stand in the gap) to another person. The best part is –  God is always listening.

The holidays are coming and I’m sure we’ll all be going through a lot of tape!

Just think, what a gift it is to another person when you ‘tape’ your prayers to them. We can adhere God’s love to someone who really needs it by simply praying for them. Let’s make a decision to tape more than just gifts this season!

Tape away friends. tape away!

Love you more than knowing people used plenty of tape on my behalf,

Sunday
