{MAPPING}

Yesterday I had my MAPPING appointment; the first step to setting up my radiation. When you are dealing with radiating a part of your body, it has to be done in the same spot every single time. In order to make sure this happens, the radiologist created a ‘map’ on my body. I laughed to myself as I laid there for an hour with my arms over my head as they made all sorts of dots on me with a Sharpie marker. It’s like I have a connect-the-dots game on my chest! I even got a few tattoo’s, 5 little freckles they will use to line me up to the machine every day.

I guess I can’t complain that I haven’t been allowed get a tattoo..lol.

As I was laying there thinking about the MAPPING, I knew the Holy Spirit was speaking to me. God has a map for our lives and He did the MAPPING before we were even born.

Jeremiah 29:11 (AMP) “For I know the thoughts and plans that I have for you, says the Lord, thoughts and plans for welfare and peace and not for evil, to give you hope in your final outcome.”

Isn’t it wonderful to know the plan for our lives isn’t an accident? God has it all mapped out for us! However, maybe you’re like me and think, ‘I can’t read maps!’ Seriously people, I can not read a map to save my life. How can I follow a map I can’t understand? I have an answer…

Think about my joy and excitement the day they introduced the GPS! I think it may have replaced the ‘better than sliced bread’ analogy in my book. The GPS tells you how to follow the map. Even though it drives me nuts, I actually appreciate the little voice that says, “recalculate, recalculate” over and over when I go even the slightest bit off track.

God has an amazing gift for each of us….an internal GPS; His name is the Holy Spirit. Check this out:

John 16:13 (AMP) “But when He, the Spirit of Truth (the Truth-giving Spirit) comes, He will guide you into all the Truth (the whole, full Truth). For He will not speak His own message [on His own authority]; but He will tell whatever He hears [from the Father; He will give the message that has been given to Him], and He will announce and declare to you the things that are to come [that will happen in the future].”

One thing I love about the Holy Spirit is He listens to the Father, He gently leads me the direction He wants me to go. The Holy Spirit is a gentleman, when we go the wrong direction He speaks in a ‘still small voice’ saying, recalculate  recalculate. If we’ll learn to turn up the volume on our internal GPS, the Holy Spirit will guide our lives according to the map God created for us.

God did the MAPPING, the Holy Spirit, our internal GPS, does the guiding and all we have to do is follow along and see all the great things God has planned for us!

Love you more than knowing He has a plan for me!
