Word for Your Wednesday

{Regrowth}

Cold Cap Therapy saved my hair – praise the Lord! However, I’ve had a lot of thinning and you can see the places where the Cold Cap didn’t touch and I lost hair (over my ears). It’s interesting to see these spots and what my head would have looked like without this therapy.

In order to help with the regrowth, I’m trying a few different products. I’m taking daily supplements, Biotene and Silica; both are supposed to help with hair, skin and nails. I’m also using Rogaine for Women, I heard it can really help after chemotherapy.

While considering the regrowth I’m experiencing, this verse came to mind:

John 15:1-2 (AMP)“ I am the True Vine, and My Father is the Vinedresser. Any branch in Me that does not bear fruit [that stops bearing] He cuts away (trims off, takes away); and He cleanses and repeatedly prunes every branch that continues to bear fruit, to make it bear more and richer and more excellent fruit”.

We all have things we need to ‘thin’ out of our lives. I love that my Heavenly Father doesn’t come in with a chainsaw and painfully chop away at the things in my life I need to get rid of. Instead, He sent the Holy Spirit who is gentle. He speaks in that still small voice and says things like:  ”Walk in love, It’s not a good idea to say that, have patience…”.  The great thing about God’s pruning (thinning) is that it promotes regrowth. This re-growth will bear fruit, meaning it will be better than what was cut back.

John 15: 4-5 (AMP) “Dwell in Me, and I will dwell in you. [Live in Me, and I will live in you.] Just as no branch can bear fruit of itself without abiding in (being vitally united to) the vine, neither can you bear fruit unless you abide in Me. I am the Vine; you are the branches. Whoever lives in Me and I in him bears much (abundant) fruit. However, apart from Me [cut off from vital union with Me] you can do nothing.

A daily dose of supplements and Rogaine will help the regrowth process of my hair.

A daily dose of Jesus (dwelling and abiding in Him) will help the regrowth process of my life.

The thinning of my hair hasn’t been fun and honestly being pruned isn’t either. But, through the process of re-growth we will see God work in our lives, helping us bear the fruit necessary to be ladies who exhibit Him. I’m excited to see the regrowth of my hair (I can already see it starting) and looking forward to seeing what He does in me as He continues to prune away the old and helps me grow in the new!

Love you more than the regrowth of my thinning hair,

Sunday
