Word for Your Wednesday

{STOP}

Today I go in for Chemo #2. I’m going to be totally transparent and tell you my first experience was not a good one. I started the day with a cheery attitude but, soon into treatment, the smiles were replaced with tears. I think it was a combination of the unknown and the reality of what I’m dealing with coming to the surface.

Here’s me and my ‘not so happy’ look during treatment:

Are  you wondering what in the world is on my head? It’s called a cold cap, a relatively new therapy in the US (coming from London).  The goal of  Cold Cap Therapy is to save my hair. The cold cap, which is basically like an ice pack hat, freezes your hair follicles. Once frozen, the chemo drugs can no long affect them, saving your hair. For more information on the CCT, click HERE.

The cold cap STOPS chemo drugs in their tracks and prevents them from doing damage to your hair.

 Cancer is my enemy (for now). However, the Lord has given me weapons that can stop him in his tracks. One of these weapons may seem odd – weird even, but it’s powerful and will give you victory over your enemy too.

Praising the Lord STOPS the enemy in his tracks and prevents him from doing damage in your life.

Paul and Silas were a great example of praise in action.

Acts 16:25-26 (AMP)“ But about midnight, as Paul and Silas were praying and singing hymns of praise to God, and the [other] prisoners were listening to them.  Suddenly there was a great earthquake, so that the very foundations of the prison were shaken; and at once all the doors were opened and everyone’s shackles were unfastened.”

Praising the Lord is simple.  All you have to do is sing and thank Him for the victory He is already giving you!

Am I suggesting you praise Him even before you see your answer? Absolutely; it’s called: FAITH

Here’s an example of how I praise the Lord (lucky for you, your reading this and can’t actually hear me sing): “Thank you Lord You sent Your Son to die on the cross to heal my body. Thank you that I have supernatural strength and energy. I praise and worship you Lord; You are good.  Thank you Lord for completely restoring my body”

I will continue to praise the Lord until I see the end of cancer! I want to encourage you to do the same, no matter what situation you are facing. It’s basically like slapping the devil right in the face and saying ‘take that’!

Love you more than having a little sass in my stash,

Sunday

  1. [...] Cold Cap Therapy saved my hair – praise the Lord! However, I’ve had a lot of thinning and you can see the places where the Cold Cap didn’t touch and I lost hair, for example, over my ears. It’s interesting to see these spots and what my head would have looked like without this therapy. [...]
