sold This fundraising sale of my David Attenborough portrait, limited signed giclée prints, came about organically through my passion for the natural World, the need for blue and green spaces and having something to say.

The title of this portrait is “Help”. I was inspired to paint Attenborough because I love the way he educates us about the World's ecological problems and engages us with the magic of nature. Like him, I believe a vegan diet is the single biggest thing any individual can do to have the greatest positive impact against climate change.

Steve Allnut from the Sussex Seabed Restoration Project gave a talk in the summer of 2022 in Brighton. He showed a YouTube video of David Attenborough talking about the devastating results trawler fishing had on the seabed of Sussex, leaving it barren with just a few predators. I am also a graphic recorder and after a year of not sketchnoting, I was suddenly inspired to. You can see my sketchnote of this talk on instagram/artistMerf. I later found out, this was the same time my sketchnote tutor and friend took his own life. Because of this, profits from the sale of “Help” go equally to Mind, the mental health charity, and Sussex Seabed Restoration Project.

Here's a bit of detail about the framed print and care of it.

I commission my original oil on board to be reproduced using a Giclée print method. Giclée, the French word for ‘spray', refers to the ink jet printing process used to produce these beautiful archival pigment fine art prints. Professional, fade-resistant Epson Ultrachrome HDX inks are used with this process.

Paper used is Hahnemühle German Etch 310gsm (FSC or PEFC-certified) award-winning range, for fine art reproductions. This paper is acid free and archival.

Framed with premium anti-reflective glass: “Artglass AR 70” which is scratch resistant and easy to clean with a micro fibre cloth and ammonia free glass cleaner.

Please handle with care and hang your artwork, avoiding exposure to direct sunlight, excessive heat and humidity.

Open for commissions.
