Watch Stand sold , Watch Display, Watch Holder - Petrified Wood

DESCRIPTION - This watch display is part of a new series that I am offering which feature petrified wood (PW) bases. Petrified Wood (PW) is formed when wood material becomes deposited in an anaerobic location such as at the bottom of a body of water or when buried in landslides or under volcanic ash. High moisture is necessary as over a long period of time dissolved minerals replace the molecules in the wood.

MATERIAL - This display is crafted from Petrified Wood (PW). Petrified wood is fossilized wood; over millions of years the wood's molecules are slowly replaced by minerals - essentially wood converted into stone. Most PW is between 20 Million and 300 Million years old. The color of the PW is dependent on which minerals replace sold the wood material. I have carefully selected each of the specimens I am using for this series. This has a strong beautifully natural aesthetic borne from the combination of its beautiful texture and colors.

This specimen's coloration includes tan, putty, rust browns and darker browns. The surface has interesting textures ranging rom smooth to fine porous where bark existed, all enhancing the natural presentation; it is on the large size of the spectrum for a single watch plinth with good heft to it.

I am not padding the base on these so that you can fully inspect and appreciate the fossil.

DIMENSIONS - 5.25" x 4" x 2.5" tall - add 3.5" for a size L holder.

Watch Display Holder:

These are the finest prefabricated watch display holders that I could find. Far superior to the ubiquitous cheap plastic versions which are hard, brittle, have sharp edges that strain, cut and wear watch bands. Features include:

•Rubber coated spring steel, providing protection for bands and clasps unlike hard plastic/acrylic.
•A pair of finger tabs assist with mounting and dismounting watches a simpler / safer system compared to mounts not outfitted with pinch tabs.
•The opening on my holder is positioned such that the watch case back sits over the opening so little contact with the rear of the watch case will occur.
•Each holder fits into a metal socket allowing for removal as well as unrestricted rotational positioning.

Mounting and dismounting your watch on to the holder:
1) Remove the holder from the base.
2) Pinch the two finger tabs, collapsing the ring enough to mount the watch onto the holder, release the tabs.
3) Reinstall back onto the base stand.

Holders are available in two sizes, Small/Medium (S/M) & Large (L). S/M will accommodate watches fitted to 6 1/4" - 7.75" wrists, while L accommodates watches fitted for wrists ranging from 7.25" - 8.5" NOTE: if your wrist is 7.5" I would go with a S/M. Measure wrist with a cloth tailors tape fitted comfortably to your wrist. Or cut a 3/4" wide strip of paper to 10" long - wrap around your wrist as tight as you wear your watches, mark where the end of the paper strip reaches on the strip. remove and measure to mark.
