Ancient faience necklace, excavated beads, archeological find, ancient jewelry, ancient beads ca 2200 years old, ancient terracotta beads sold
A great strand with large Bactrian terracotta beads (250 BC-125 AD) mixed up with old African spindle whorls and old bauxite beads. Bactria was an ancient region in Central Asia that covered the actual Afghanistan, Tajikistan and Uzbekistan. Very rare!
To wear as it is or to use for your own projects!
✔️Strand is ca. 48 cm temporarily strung
✔️Local Afghan dealers often add old African spindle whorls to these strands. So the smooth greyish beads are African, the rough terracotta beads are Bactrian, the smooth terracotta color beads are bauxite.
✔️These beads are handmade, no beads are identical.
✔️Smallest bead ca 18 mm; largest bead ca 25 mm
✔️Good condition consistent with age and use. These beads have traveled at least three continents. Chips, sold corrosion and pitting are a normal part of their patina attesting to their age and extensive use.
✔️The beads will be carefully wrapped. Tracking is included!
