Original Roycroft Framed Motto-Craftsman/Mission Style Frame-Home Sweet Home-House sold Warming Gift
Original Roycroft Framed Motto from a 1927 Edition of "The Notebook of Elbert Hubbard", who was best known as the founder of Roycroft Community in 1895 which formed a part of the Arts and Crafts Movement. (Mr. Hubbard and his wife died when the Lusitania was sunk in 1915.) The mottos from this collection are made of letter press oatmeal paper and are in excellent condition. No tears or rips. Remember: They are over 90 years old!!
This particular offering has the motto: "God Will Not Look You Over for Medals sold, Degrees, Or Diplomas, But For Scars."
My Handcrafted Craftsman Frame, which is also available as a separate offering, is quarter sawn white oak and has a General Finishes mahogany stain followed by 4 coats of a quality spray lacquer. The walnut plugs in the corner complete the frame. The frame is then lovingly hand buffed to a satiny, smooth finish.
The back of the frame has been key slotted for flush mounting.
