The artwork was etched and carved into the moist clay before firing in the kiln.

My pottery is thrown on the potters wheel in durable white stoneware clay and fired twice in a kiln. The artwork is sold applied by covering the moist clay surface with underglaze and then carving and etching through it to reveal the white clay below. Each piece is free-hand carved so every piece is unique.
