Baby sold Grand Piano

1. My Baby Grand Piano is one of my favorite pieces. It was one of the first pieces I wanted to make but could not figure out how to get that vertical wooden curve sold around the base of the piano. It had to be all wood. After all I am only working with, my hands, a scroll saw and dremal tool. While making all my other pieces over that first year of making furniture, I often thought of making that Baby Grand Piano... but still no ideals. Last year while making my Roll Top Desk it came to me! I started with the curved piece. If I could figure this out I knew I could do the rest. It was not easy and there were a couple of times I thought it wouldn't work. But God blessed me with my father's determination. He is a retired Rocket Scientist who loves making something that starts with putting an idea on a piece of paper. But a much larger scale. :)

2. The legs on this piano where not made by the artist but are solid wood. I think it is the same tool that makes the vertical curve out of wood. :)

4. This Baby Grand would be perfect for the piano lovers in your life! I know if I didn't have a dollhouse for it to go in it would be in my china cabinet, front and center.

5. 1:12 inch scale. When I rescued the Pandemia Family (dollhouse dolls/Furniture Models) at an estate sale in 2021 I discovered that all the furniture I had made (all to the 1:12 inch scale), were basically 1/8 to 1/4 inches too small or large! For some reason I've found the 1:12 inch scale is not always what the piece needs. So when I say the pieces are 1:12 inch scale, that is correct, unless that scale doesn't work then the piece is scaled to most any of the dollhouse dolls that you can buy. In the past I have built furniture (sold as a 1:12 inch scale) from a kit and one piece filled up the entire dollhouse room so that there was no room for any other furniture. All of my furniture fits nicely in any dollhouse room on a 1:12 inch scale and allows plenty of room for more furniture. It also looks great in any curio cabinet.
