This is a pair of matched Kyanite gems in a gorgeous color of blue known as royal blue. This is the color that many people wish their Sapphire had! Very difficult to facet this material as it has perfect cleavage in one direction and a hardness of both 4 and 7.5. These faceted well into ovals that measures 10.0 x 7.9 x 4.7 mm and 10.0 x 7.8 x 4.8 mm and weighs 6.68 carat together. The clarity is moderate and color zoned. These fine gemstones are untreated and were mined in Brazil. With two hardness sold ratings being 4 and 7.5, Kyanite is best suited in light wear pieces of jewelry such as pendants, pins and earrings.
