sold Boxes from India and were made of teak wood, datable first half 900.
The piece is equipped with a swivel top that opens revealing additional storage space and compartments.

Tikka boxes with lids would originally contain various colored pigments, mainly to apply the Hindu mark Bindi on the forehead. Wear according to age and usage. Original patina.
