FREE WORLDWIDE SHIPPING! Beautiful Victorian Jewellery Presentation Box Lined with Satin from sold a Scottish (Glasgow) Goldsmith
A lovely antique jewellery presentation box inscribed:
JAMES MARK ~ GOLDSMITH of 33 GORDON STREET GLASGOW
Records from the Scottish Post Office archives show that a goldsmith by the name of James Mark was active at 33 Gordon Street, Glasgow in 1906 ~ 1907 and I have not come across any other boxes. Hence its a rare find, over one hundred years old, and in very good condition. The blue velvet exterior has slight rubbing at the extremities but is still mostly intact as is the pale gold inner lining. The hinged lid is robust and the clasp closes with a sound “click”.
A wonderful piece for collectors or to display on the dressing table. Especially good for presenting that special piece of jewellery to your beloved and for anyone with Glaswegian or Scottish connections.
