1970s Alfred Shaheen Long sold Dress

This 1970s Alfred Shaheen dress will be sure to impress at your next formal event. Alfred Shaheen was a designer based in Hawaii as you can tell from the Hawaiian influence of this beautiful piece. According to the vintage fashion guild, Alfred Shaheen would have hand printed his fabrics in the flora and fauna of the Hawaiian Islands as evidenced in this dress. The fabric is a synthetic material of polyester and nylon. The top is a plain peach coloured lined bodice with sheer peach coloured full sleeves. The skirt is patterned with pink, red, and white roses and rose buds with a geometrical pattern down the back, front and hem. The roses scatter throughout the entire skirt. The cuffs off the gathered sleeves match the skirt and have 2 fabric covered buttons. The waist is gathered with a 2" belt. The belt has 2 hooks that hook into grommets for closure. The hem is floor length but there is a slight grad to the hem so that it is shorter in the front than the back for ease of walking. There are fabric covered buttons up the entire dress from the hem to the bodice that end at the V-neckline. The collar is the iconic 1970s style and suits this dress to the impeccable one it is.
