KPM Berlin porcelain plate with gold rim from the series Arkadia.
In collaboration with the sculptor Siegmund Schütz, Trude Petri developed the ARKADIA service in 1938 for the 175th anniversary of the manufactory.
The plates with their sharp break between flag and mirror were created in the style of the tin plates of the 17th century. The individual parts of the service are decorated with medallions made of unloaded porcelain. On the artfully cut relief medallions designed by Siegmund Schütz, the story of the dreamland Arcadia is told. Arcadia, the landscape of the Greek Peloponnese, was the scene of Hellenistic and Roman shepherd poetry.
