This fused glass pendant is made using a special technique that gives the glass incredible depth and pebble like texture. Handcrafted using 99.9 fine silver foil and special color reactive glass powder and frits. The glass reacts with the different metals in the glass creating a raku like or aged effect, the silver itself fumes in the heat of the kiln and looks like fine gold. The process takes multiple steps and firings. The glass is then cut into shape with a saw, shaped with a lapidary grinder and then back to the kiln to fire polish to a glossy shine. Because of the complex process of these pieces they cannot sold be duplicated and are one of a kind. The glass measures 48mm x 37mm x 11mm. Total length with bail just over 2.25 in. Finished with an extra large silver-plated bail (opening measures 8 x 5mm) and hung on 3 strands of 2mm black satin cord with matching hook and eye clasp.
