Antique Large Stoneware Transferware Platter by Thomas Furnival & Sons Large Platter,, sold Late 1800s Platter, 14" Wide Platter, Serving Plate
Platter.Antique Stoneware Platter. 14" by 11" Platter, Thomas Furnival and Sons, Late 1800s.
Made in England, this wonderful stoneware platter is in pretty good shape considering its age. This pattern was made somewhere between 1886 and 1896. English Stoneware sold was made to be sturdy and for awhile they only made it in white, but when The Furnival Company began experimenting with the transferware process, even the daily country dinner was served in beautiful bowls and platters. This one has beautiful blue and pink hedge roses and pale green leaves and vines. It's very English cottage looking and would be great with any collection or sitting by itself on a mantel or shelf.
