This female Cardinal suncatcher, done in muted reds, measures about 8" long measured from head to tail, but about 7" wide sold by 7" high as it hangs. It is constructed with 12 individually cut, smoothed, copper foiled and soldered pieces of glass. This method of stained glass is called the Tiffany Technique. This cardinal faces to the right. (We also make a male cardinal which faces left.)
Unlike some work sold, the metal on the edge of this piece was built up with substantial amounts of solder, in a labor intensive process, to give you the strongest and longest lasting, heirloom quality product possible.
We finished it off with a dark patina which helps emphasize the details.
This piece hangs by a strong thin plastic coated metal braided cord.
