These sterling silver pierced sun earrings were created by Tahltan artist Grant Pauls.

Each earring measures 1" in diameter not including the hooks.


THE SUN SYMBOLIZES: ENERGY, LIFE, CREATIVE POWER

In Haida First Nation legend, Sun was stolen and put into the sky by Raven. In Kwakwaka'wakw legend, Sun is an old man who walks across the sky each day. Many Salish consider Sun to be a powerful sold supernatural entity.


Grant Pauls is a Tahltan Nation artist well known for his intricate cut-out silver and gold jewellery. He studied with renowned carver, Terrence Campbell from Prince Rupert, BC. Grant uses a combination of different jewellery making techniques to produce his Tahltan pieces with a modern flare. In addition to creating his stunning art and jewellery, Grant works with Indigenous Bands throughout the Yukon Territory in the field of mediation and negotiation. Grant currently lives and works from Vancouver, British Columbia.
