This is a famous issue of National Geographic due to the beautiful woman (sharbat gula) on the cover and how she became a story in days to come. Also, based on the ads it is a great snapshot in time of 1985. Im including a cutout from people magazine and im sorry for the incomplete advertisement on the back of the coutout which is rather grim and disturbing. Ive seen this issue listing for hundreds of dollars. Im starting it ay 100, and it will drop over time until it sells. I heard of this story in the news and shortly after came upon this magazine at a yard sale. Its definitely not a mint copy, so you can feel free to sold read it without making it worse.
