Product code: Rare Delft Imari Porcelain Butter sold Tub
Pijnacker “Boter Tobbe”. This lovely collectible was made by The Royal Delft factory in Delft, Netherlands. The Delft "Imari" designs in shades of red, blue and gold were created by Adriaan Pijnacker with inspiration from 17th and 18th Century Japanese Imari pieces and are the most collectible of Delft porcelains. This piece was hand painted in 1969 by master artist Ursula Kuczinski, an expert in Pijnacker technique (also known as Imari or Doré). She worked for Royal Delft from 1956 until 2004. Pijnacker porcelain was discontinued in the 1990s due to the cost of its production. The bottom is marked with the official Royal Delft Logo (the stylized JT of Joost Thoott) plus the date (CN = 1969) and the artist's initials (‘uku”) and the number for the piece. The inside of the lid also has the artist's initials. This butter tub was last sold by sold Royal Delft in 1991. It is a rare piece and even more rare to find in such perfect condition.
