Holmegaard is a Danish company founded in 1825 by Contesse Henriette Danneskiold-Samsøe. Initially, the company produced glass bottles, but as early as the 1930s they began to produce glass in any version for the laid table. Jacob Eiler Bang was originally an architect, but specialized in glass design and began working for Holmegaard as early as 1928. At that time, the company was in great financial difficulties. Thanks to his great designs, which were recognized worldwide, Holmegaard went steadily uphill. Bang was Holmegaard's first designer, but Per Lütken was "the master of glass" and no name is associated with Holmegaard more than Per Lütken.
