Door Stop sold Spanish Galleon Cast Iron Sailing Ship Full Sails Albany Foundry Rust Patina

I have two of these beautiful doorstops. This door stop is unpainted and has a full patina of rust.
The doorstop would be perfect for a seaside home, beach house, or as decor in an ocean lovers study.

The Albany foundry was established in 1897. In the first three years of the new century they manufactured and sold stoves. Adding to their cast iron line, they included bookends, doorstops, door knockers, candle sconces, candle sticks and andirons.

They sold these items by taking orders through their catalog.

In the case of the doorstops, you could order them painted or unpainted. If you chose to paint the door stop yourself, they would include instructions on how to best go about that.

This doorstop measures 12” tall X 11” sold wide X 3” deep at the feet.

The item number and makers mark are photographed on this one.

This is intended as a doorstop, but it also looks quite handsome against a stack of larger sized books.
