This has been a favorite and much- loved vintage brooch of mine! I'm not sure of the date on this brooch, it was sold to me as vintage 15 Yrs ago. Although whimsical and costume, it packs a powerful message!

If you're old enough, you may remember “Lucky” beer bottle lids...inside the cap they printed pictographs; picture puzzles, if you will. As a kid, I'd collect these lids from the adults and we'd all see who could guess the “expression” that was drawn in pictographs, first . For example; a sheep in wolf's clothing would be depicted as a picture of a sheep in some furry jacket and then you'd see a naked wolf. This was why I have been so fond of this brooch; it has a picture message; or expression. I HAD to have it. Plus, as a woman, I think we can all acknowledge the “wolves” out there ...on nearly EVERY corner, it seems...not JUST in Hollywood!

In the costume jewelry collector books there is a brooch with a 1950's looking woman dancing on what appears to be a peppermint candy cane. “Doing the Peppermint Twist!” So, there are many fun, whimsical novelty-type brooches out there to be collected, and THIS is one such brooch!

The wolf is wearing a Matt/black , rhinestone-studded leather biker jacket and sunglasses; wouldn't be Hollywood without the shades! He is leaning on a street sign that is labeled Hollywood one direction and Vine the other! He has his hand in his pocket... too cute! There is a very nice faux pearl on top of the street sign.

The back has a hallmark-??? It has a rollover clasp. Matt Gold-tone over metal.
