American Brilliant Cut Glass-Set of 2 Twin Celery Dishes from the Early 1900s Arts & Crafts Period-Holiday Table-Antique Crystal-Chippy

Alittle History:
The American Brilliant Period in cut glass history began around 1850 and lasted into the early 1900s. Immigrants helped supply glass houses in the United States with skilled cutters allowing them to develop a product rivaling European cut glass.
Brilliant cut glass is thick, heavy, absolutely clear and deeply cut -- almost sharp enough to cut you. American and European patterns were indistinguishable; fine craftspeople hand cut and polished the elaborate pieces from the early 1870s to the first decades of the 1900s.

From my late Mother's extensive collection of cut glass pieces, from European to American Brilliant Period, come this matching set of what's known as celery dishes-yet can be used for so many different objects-from candy & appetizers, to jewelry, to keys & coins......the possibilities are endless......
They are deeply cut dishes with deeply etched flowers and sold fancy fluted rims.

Condition:
Yes they are chippy....VERY chippy-too many chips to photograph....
I tried to show one inner nick I found and the edge of another, with flea bites....all hard to see unless examined up close (see last 2 pictures) But there are others and you may be able to find them if you use your zoom.....
Chips come natural to pieces that are saw toothed or have decorative edges, pieces that are over 100 years old and handled alot.....And when the edges are sharp to begin with, makes it more difficult to detect all the chips....BUT they are there and there are many of them!!!
Pieces also have light scratches on bottoms from usage...

And yet, these beautiful, sparkly dishes are ready to resume their places on the holiday table, to be used again and become YOUR family's next heirlooms!
None of these flaws detract from the dazzling craftsmanship of the dishes themselves and the flowers present an old world yet contemporary design, which lends them to many different decor styles.
I had these looked at by another Dealer who specialized in ABP glass....and we both agreed that they are worthy of usage, despite their flaws....

Measurements: APX: 11 1/2" x 4 3/4" x 2"

Please look at all photos carefully and use your Zoom. Read my description carefully and note the mentioned FLAWS-Lots of Chips!
