Vintage Mid Century G Ruggeri Seated Scribe Man Figurine Statue. Signed "G Ruggeri Bianchi" on the back. Measures about 7 inches tall, and the base is about 3.5 inches wide. Black stone base, and the statue is a composite material. Gino Ruggeri was a well known mid-century Italian sculptor, active from the 1930s to the 1980s. He developed a method of mixing alabaster with resin to make it more durable and waterproof. He worked for many years in the Tito Bianchi factory in Tuscany which was known for creating various classical and religious statues.
