This is a RARE complete set of Beswick art pottery in perfect condition from the 1930's. It was meant for the aspirational British middle class of the Art Deco era to inject a little style into their lives, and it delivers! Meant for the mantel piece, this garniture includes two vases and a candlestick holder. They are decorated with a wonderful flambe drip pattern in blue, turquoise and gold.
The pattern number for the candle holder is 712, and there are 4 places for candles. It sold measures 6 and a quarter inches by 10 and a quarter inches. The vases are pattern number 8402, and they stand 9 inches tall, 4 inches across at the base, and 7 and a half inches across the widest part of the mouth. They are marked in gold on the bottom, "Beswick Ware Made in England."
When I say perfect condition, I mean perfect. There is not a scratch, chip or mark on any of the three pieces in this set. One of the vases still has a piece of the original black and gold label affixed. If you are a collector of Beswick or of Art Deco, then this complete set belongs in your collection!
