Daisy murrine has been a design element of Fratelli Toso for over a hundred years. (See Leslie Pina's FRATELLI TOSO, ITALIAN GLASS 1854-1980, p. 44, 45) This vase has only daisy murrine, with a yellow center surrounded by white petals, surrounded by black. These are collected on clear glass, with interesting views in some spaces between the murrines. In Pina's book, p. 80, 89, 90 are examples of beaker vase shapes. This vase measures 6 1/4" high x 4 1/4" deep at the top; it weighs about 2 pounds and has great stability when holding the flower. The top edge is cut and polished, and the Pontil markings on the bottom are ground. Made at the end of the sold 20th century. good conditions.
