Rare L'Islet foundry cast metal humidor or saleman's sample.
Advertizing coal stoves and furnaces.
I believe this advertising piece was given to be used as an Humidor.
L'Islet foundry is situated in Quebec, Mauricie.
The "Forge sold de L'Islet" were acquired by Mr Mc Dougall in 1863 and located about 4 km from "Les Forges Saint-Maurice's" which were also a property of the McDougall family.
The piece is cast metal and enamelled
Has the original label in the shape of a heating control sign and marked.
Size: 7" tall X 4 3/4" diameter.
This is a very heavy piece and the enamel has minor flake Around edge where the lid is sitting. Overall condition: Very nice
