All of our glass sold is handmade furnace glass. As with many handmade historical glass pieces there is often some imperfections in the glass, such as small bubbles and light streaks. In addition, there is often a mark on the bottom of the piece called the pontil mark. These details are not unusual and can be seen in many museum pieces throughout the world.
All of the Historical Glassworks wares are made by the artists using a soda/lime glass (also known as a soft glass). This is the same formula that has been used by glass makers since the beginning of our craft. Because it is soda lime glass, please DO NOT use this glass for hot liquids. This glass should not be used in the microwave or dishwasher. Please hand wash in lukewarm water.
