Product code: 1973 The Ocean World of Jacques Cousteau First Edition Series Life Aquatic Steve sold
Jacques-Yves Cousteau, AC was a French naval officer, divemaster, oceanographer, filmmaker and author who co-invented the first open-circuit SCUBA set. He was born in 1910 in Saint-André-de-Cubzac, France. In the year 1957, only 47, he died in Paris. Jacques Cousteau was the inspiration for Steve Zissou in "Life Aquatic" by Wes Anderson... down to the red beanie ;) This is a mix of 1st editions & 2nd/revised editions. The revised editions came out less than a year after the first editions; and not all of them got 2nd editions. Which suggests there may have been exhagerations as the Wes Anderson movie would suggest or at the very least science that had been since disproven shortly after printing. This was the inspiriation for Bill sold Murray's character in Wes Anderson's "Life Aquatic with Steve Zissou". These are in amazing condition. Filled with amazing photography taken by the first marine documentarian. Don't hesitate to ask me for any specific photos/questions in general.
