All of my bowls/platters are finished with a coat of deep penetrating food safe oil and then waxed and buffed with a food safe hard wax.
They are allowed to dry for a week, fully curing the wax and making them resistant to water.

Bowl can be wiped down with a damp cloth, or rinsed quickly in warm water and then dried. Do not use scrubbing pads , it will not harm the wood, but will remove the wax.

Never put in a dishwasher!
Never put it in a microwave!

With care, it should be usable for many years.
