My friend Sande makes these great crocheted afghans because she needs something to do. There's nothing fancy about them, but she uses only #6 SUPER BULKY yarn so they are thick and soft and warm, very snugly.

This selection of Sande's afghans are all made with Lion Brand Yarn, the Hometown USA line with colors named after cities. They are acrylic, machine washable and dryable.

•Anchorage sold Ice (photos 2 & 3) is shades of charcoal; 36" x 45"

•Cincinnati Red (photos 4 & 5) is a true red; 36" x 45"

•San Francisco Tweed (photos 6 & 7) is multicolored; 40" x 43"
