This box is made using black walnut from NE Iowa where I have found the darkest and nicest walnut around.

The inlay of this box is made from aspen and walnut. It is meant to look like the beads are 3 dimensional, giving the illusion that they are sticking out of the panel.

The box has a .hidden compartment. that is fairly difficult to find, especially if you are not aware that the box has a .secret.place. It is not meant to be a bank deposit drawer and so one must be careful what is placed in there. I have had many people who were stumped when trying to sold get into the compartment, even after I told them there was a .hiding place. If you want to know where it is and how to get into it, send me a conversation. I don't like to publicize it. (This is not a puzzle box where there are many tasks to do before you can enter the compartment)

With feltl linings in the bottom and hidden compartment, this box can be used to store jewelry items like watches, bracelets pins necklaces and many other small things.

As a men's dresser valet, the box would be a perfect place for a wallet, keys, pocketknife, change, or a phone.
