The painted sketch depicts a stone cottage and hills set in the Yorkshire Dales (UK); the painting is one of a series, following a walking holiday to Yorkshire in summer. The painting technique is sketchy with quick, thick brush strokes, leaving a textured finish. Oil paint on canvas board, and unframed.

Ben is a 3D designer and architectural visualiser, who took up painting whilst living in Provence, France. His work is immediate and freely worked, leaving his paintings loose and textured. He now paints full-time.
