Do cats like to climb Christmas trees or at least play with the ornaments? Are Siamese a little naughty?
This miniature, vintage, porcelain Siamese cat is perched on a tiny Christmas tree, probably fascinated by the Cardinal perched on top.
The tree is a 4 1/4” reproduction bluish green sisal tree; the cat, wood base and ornaments are vintage. The ornaments are red and pink mercury glass garland beads—and gunmetal composite beads from a vintage necklace. The base looks like a display stand for a figurine or bell jar. It's from an estate sale, not sure exactly how old it is but sold I'm guessing at least 30 years old.
I sculpted the snow drifts around the tree from styrofoam, then slathered both the drifts and tree with my own sparkly snow. It's a concoction I make that sets, smoothes and further secures the scene in place. Then I shower everything with pale pink ultrafine glitter. Yes, pink snow. And if you look closely, you'll see that a few of the ornaments have fallen into the snow drifts.
Just for fun.
