This small vintage metal bait box was designed to be worn on a belt, to keep bait handy while standing in a lake or stream. We`ve seen it called a worm box, but the fisherman who owned this box used it for fishing flies, and there are three finished flies and one natural feather fan to make a fourth fly inside. The kidney-shaped box has working metal belt loops on the back side, and could definitely be used. The original green paint is in very good condition, which also makes it a fabulous decorative item. Measures 6 inches wide by 3.5 inches deep and stands 2 inches high. A little bit of rust, but in great shape for its age sold. Only condition issue is that the hinges are broken, so the lid is separate, but fits securely on the base. Great gift for a fly fisherman who likes vintage gear!
