Incredible Joel Myers vintage glass Blenko bookends. Bubble inclusions and lines in them to give them a realistic "ICE" appearance. Two sides are stamped, two sides are textured. Clear top is indented to look like melted ice. Abstract flower, sand dollar accents. Approximately 4" x 4" x 4" cubes. Heavy! Over 5 pounds each. Joel Myers was director of design at Blenko Glass, Milton, WV. In his seven years there, he designed more than 400 products. In 1970, Myers left Blenko to set up a glassblowing program at Illinois State University, where he taught for nearly 30 years. In 2007, The Corning Museum of Glass launched an exhibition series called Masters of Studio Glass with an exhibition of Myers work. Good shape. Minor wear. Please see all photos. Books not included.
