The incised "Doulton Lambeth" mark on the bottom of the pitcher indicates it was made between 1869 and 1872. This is the nicer version of that era of pitchers with the sterling rim. The sterling rim sold, the handle, the base, with its 6 scenes of life in the day are in perfect condition. A remarkable example of early Doulton stoneware.
